Anthos|Home is a groundbreaking startup dedicated to housing vulnerable New Yorkers. Through the SHARE program, we provide rental assistance to individuals and families who have been unable to access other benefits. The program prioritizes households who have been in shelter the longest, offering up to three years of rental assistance and ongoing support to tenants and landlords to ensure housing stability.

SHARE serves as a vital resource to help individuals and families to achieve long-term housing success by providing financial assistance, coordination of services, and landlord engagement.

The Role

Anthos|Home is seeking a passionate and experienced SHARE Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the SHARE Case Management Supervisor, the SHARE specialist will perform high-quality case management, housing package processing, and property provider support in the SHARE program.

Key Responsibilities

    • Review housing packages received from the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and make eligibility determinations promptly and in compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate with DHS staff to ensure that any necessary corrections to housing packages are made in a timely manner.
    • Collect and review eligibility information and verify income documentation for each household.
    • Confirm landlord TIN or EIN numbers with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) records.
    • Enroll households determined to be eligible for the SHARE program.
    • Issue application, warning, and approval letters to landlords and households.
    • Determine housing subsidy, unit hold, broker’s fee and furniture
    • payment amounts
    • Assess if utility credits or funds are due to the household
    • Issue and track security vouchers, as well as payments for landlord
    • incentives, moving expenses, furniture allowances, broker's fees, and
    • security voucher balances
    • Maintain accurate and complete files for each household and enter
    • all program data into the SHARE Program database
    • Process annual program renewals and modifications, determining and
    • initiating retroactive payments when necessary
    • Provide ongoing customer service and support to households and
    • landlords
    • Terminate rental assistance to households no longer participating or
    • eligible for the program as per federal and/or state requirements
    • Support households needing additional support after moving into permanent housing; organize case conferencing and support meetings to ensure long-term stability.
    • Participate in the on-call roster to address program emergencies outside business hours.
    • Maintain thorough, confidential records and correspondence for all program-related interactions.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • 2-3 years of experience in housing, human services, or a related field
    • Familiarity with the NYC housing market and rental voucher programs.
    • Experience in rental voucher processes, including income certification and support for tenants during move-outs and stabilization a plus
    • Strong critical thinking, organizational, data analysis, and independent judgment skills.
    • Passion for Anthos|Home’s mission and commitment to serving diverse populations.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary: $65,000-70,000, based on experience.
    • Work Environment: Hybrid model (3–5 days per week in office or field).
